Diktat (2024)

Diktat is an placement, developpement and diplomacy game set in the NOC role-playing universe. It is designed for 2 to 5 players and 90-minute games. At the begining of each turn, opportunities appear in the city, represented by cards. These cards enable you to form alliances with important groups, bribe powerful peoples, exploit recent scientific discoveries or make your presence felt at important events. Players take it in turns to perform maneuvers to win these opportunities, or to earn Influence markers in the city's districts. The basic maneuver consists of sending a team of agents onto the game board. Henchmen, guards, emissaries… Players secretly place their pawns on the board. At the end of the turn, the player who has the greatest number of Emissaries in a sector can take an opportunity card or an Influence marker first. The second maneuver is to spy. The player can look at two face-down game elements: opponent's pawn or hidden opportunity card The third maneuver consists of carrying out an assassination. The player designates an opposing pawn and turns it over. If it is an Emissary, the assassination succeeds and the player gains 3 power points. If it is a guard, the assassin is captured and it is the assassin who must pay his opponent. Power points are used in particular to unlock the special abilities of the factions, which are very asymmetrical. The Others constitute an autonomous faction, opposed to all players. These monsters from the NOC universe are trying to invade the city and, if players cannot put their conflicts aside to unite against this force of evil when the need arises, they all risk losing the game.
